Mercy was thinking a lot about graduation and what would happen after it. She had gotten into the college she wanted, so at least she had that for the fall. For the summer, well, she guessed she'd stay here until she had to leave for cottage. She was pretty sure that would be best for everyone.

Mercy was here, but still in a rather subdued mood.

Which might explain her music choices. No one was going to hear much cheery music in here today.

Mercy was upset and embarrassed and depressed. If she hadn't had work she'd have hidden away again the way she'd been doing since she came back to herself Sunday evening.

How could she have believed that?

Mercy had totally opened the store up on time. Totally.

And absolutely had been here the past two weeks. Absolutely.

Today, between customers, you'd find Mercy sprawled out on the counter looking at bridal magazines and listening to sappy love songs. Was there anything better?

Today the store was filled with the sound of schmoopy love songs as Mercy worked on plans for her wedding.

Nothing too fancy, they hadn't even set an official date yet, and she hadn't told her mother. Margi would just try to micromanage everything.

Still, songs and flowers, and okay, a nice wedding dress... Mercy needed all of those.

Mercy wasn't sure whether to be relieved or disappointed that no children had shown up for her. At the moment she was leaning toward relieved. Or at least that was her story and she was sticking to it.

Still, there might have been a lot of soundtracks from Disney movies being played today. What? Some of them had really good songs!

Mercy was here, listening to beautifully evocative instrumental music. She was still more than a little pensive after the events of the weekend, but she was glad to be busy.

Mercy was enjoying one of the perks of the job - listening to all sorts of music. If you wandered in early you'd probably catch some Janis Ian. Mid-day had segued into Clannad and Silly Wizard, and the afternoon was a variety of country.

Next Monday? Who knew?
